I emphasize exploring relationships and interpersonal patterns to help people heal and have better relationships with themselves and others. I work from a feminist, intersectional, and systemic lens that acknowledges that mental health and wellness are highly influenced by both the personal and structural. My work incorporates an ongoing understanding of myriad social factors such as race, ethnicity, immigration status, class, gender, etc. that shape and are shaped by the lives of individuals and family systems.
I have training and experience working with folks processing range of past traumatic experiences. I use the tri-phasic model of trauma work. This means I help clients develop skills to manage trauma symptoms, help them process through past traumas, and reevaluate how they want to live and love.
I enjoy working with folks on exploring their identities, coming out to family and friends, and navigating relationships. Through my work at both the Center on Halsted and at Howard Brown, I have gained experience working with a range of intersecting identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
Until recently, I led a program helping people under 18 access gender-affirming care. From this experience, I have gained a love of talking with parents about how to support and care for their children. For cisgender parents trying to figure out what to do to help your child, I have extensive experience helping families navigate this process, both logistically and emotionally.
